Paranauphoeta anulata
Its been too long since I last updated my blog!
On the 7th June 2022 I received unidentified Paranauphoeta adult female from Hainan island, South China. And once again with the precious help and sharp eyes of TJ (the Invertebrate Dude), he identified it as Paranauphoeta anulata.
Since I didn’t have any males or chance of getting any more specimens from Hainan, it was all down to the bottom point of was she mated or not.
I housed her inside small enclosure 5x5x5cm.
And surprise!! Just few days after receiving her, she gave birth to ….. not 1 , not 2, but 37 nymphs!
I was so happy to see this!! So much potential for the future colony development!!
They are housed in the same small enclosure at this moment, but will have to rehouse to something bigger soon enough.
Meanwhile and to wrap the post…. almost a month has passed by and this is how my female is looking.
I don’t know about you guys, but for me that is not just food :D
I am guessing she is pregnant again! and fingers crossed for another huge batch of babies!!
Thank you for reading and see you the next post!
Cheers!
